The open source skill set is written for this tool, so the path is clearest here.
This guide only shows you how to switch on a feature the game studio opened. It is not a program that plays for you, and it is not affiliated with Nexon.
Not affiliated with Nexon. The game name appears only to say what this guide is about.
1. Get the prerequisites first
You need the PC build of the game (2026-09-17 or later), Node.js 18 or newer, Git for Windows, and Claude Code itself. Git is what Claude Code runs its shell commands through.

2. Install Claude Code
On Windows this single line is the shortest route. Open PowerShell from the Start menu, paste it, press Enter.

3. If you install with npm, check your Node version
You can install through npm instead, but from version 2.1.198 it wants Node.js 22 or newer. An older Node prints an EBADENGINE warning and still installs. Once installed it runs as a native binary and does not use Node.

4. Clone the open source repository
This pulls the whole repository into the folder you are standing in. We never hand you the files ourselves, you take them from the author.

5. Check that it landed correctly
Run this inside the folder you just cloned. If the last line reads 37/37 passed, you are good.

6. Switch the connector on inside the game
In the game open the menu (three lines), then Settings, Game, AI Control. The AI Connector (Beta) toggle sits there.

That page renders dynamically, so we could not diff it word for word. Where it differs, the official page wins.
7. Check that the tool sees the game
There is no key to issue. With the toggle on, the tool on your PC picks the game up. If the game is not in its default install folder the tool may miss it, and you have to point at the folder yourself.

8. Know the limits before you start
Each activity costs five Spirit Wings. After an hour of continuous running a confirmation popup appears. If you do not use it for seven days the option turns itself off.

9. Open Claude Code and approve the connection
Type claude inside that folder. When it asks whether to use the MCP server named mabinogi, approve it, then type /mabi-start.

Who pays
You need a Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise or Console account. The free claude.ai plan does not cover it. Third party APIs such as Bedrock, Vertex and Foundry also work.
Where its settings file lives
A .mcp.json file inside the project folder
If a step did not do what it says here, look up the symptom there first.
